Neoconservatism as a Jewish Movement Kevin MacDonald Over the last year, there has been a torrent of articles on neoconservatism raising usually implicitly some difficult issues: Are neoconservatives different from other conservatives? Is neoconservatism a Jewish movement? The thesis presented here is that neoconservatism is indeed a Jewish intellectual and political movement. This paper is the final installment in a three-part series on Jewish activism and reflects many of the themes of the first two articles. The first paper in this series focused on the traits of ethnocentrism, intelligence, psychological intensity, and aggressiveness. The ethnocentrism of the neocons has enabled them to create highly organized, cohesive, and effective ethnic networks. Neoconservatives have also exhibited the high intelligence necessary for attaining eminence in the academic world, in the elite media and think tanks, and at the highest levels of government.

Former inmates decry forced circumcision by Ronnie Layoo Gulu- Former inmates at Gulu Main Prison have accused the authorities of circumcising them against their will. The inmates say the prison wardens force them to get circumcised, saying the move is to enhance good sanitation and health living. Speaking to the Daily Monitor recently, Mr Richard Okello, 22, who was remanded in the prison for alleged assault for three months, said the prison warders forced him to get circumcised.
He said he was exposed to infection since they did not provide him treatment. Another former inmate, Mr David Ojok, who claimed he was also forced to circumcise, said proper sanitation, which should guarantee proper healing, was not provided. However, the regional prison commander, Mr Kenneth Mugabiirwe, dismissed the allegations.

There is more diversity of religion than in most Latin American countries. The Protestant population is mostly Evangelical. The Mormon community in El Salvador recently built its first temple in El Salvador, a structure of impressive engineering and architecture. There are also smaller Latter-day Saints chapels in Districts 1 and 3. These events are becoming less prominent with a sharp decline in the Roman Catholic population during the past decade.
Jewish Political Studies Review (Spring ) The Deep Roots of Anti-Semitism in European Society* 1 Manfred Gerstenfeld The resurgence of European anti-Semitism after the Holocaust suggests that it has deep roots in society.

The conflict erupted in BCE with the Maccabean Revolt , which succeeded in establishing an independent Hasmonean Kingdom in Judah, which later expanded over much of modern Israel, as the Seleucids gradually lost control in the region. The struggle between pro-Roman and pro-Parthian factions in Judea eventually led to the installation of Herod the Great and consolidation of the Herodian kingdom as a vassal Judean state of Rome. With the decline of the Herodian dynasty , Judea, transformed into a Roman province , became the site of a violent struggle of Jews against Greco-Romans, culminating in the Jewish—Roman wars , ending in wide-scale destruction, expulsions, and genocide.
Jewish presence in the region significantly dwindled after the failure of the Bar Kokhba revolt against the Roman Empire in CE.
The Temple was destroyed. According to Josephus, some 1, , Jews perished during the revolt and another 97, were taken captive. This marked the first time that a disability was imposed on religious grounds. Anyone who tried to deny their Jewish origin was subjected to a humiliating examination especially under the reign of Domitian, brother of Titus.

Jewish Political Studies Review It has been fostered in a great variety of ways by so many, for such a long time, in all European countries that one might consider this form of hate and discrimination as inherent to European culture and a part of European “values. The European Union’s attitude toward anti-Semitism is double-handed. Through its discriminatory declarations and votes in international bodies the EU acts as an arsonist, fanning the flames of anti-Semitism in its anti-Israeli disguise.
Simultaneously it also serves as fireman, trying to quench the flames of classic religious and ethnic anti-Semitism. France is paradigmatic of this approach. Although European anti-Semitism cannot be eradicated, certain steps can be taken to mitigate it. This requires a major change in discriminatory EU policies toward Israel. In the meantime there are increasing indications that the European battle against anti-Semitism may be used, to the contrary, to facilitate attacks on Israel.
The widespread resurgence of European anti-Semitism after the Holocaust suggests it is inherent in European culture and values. This does not imply that all or most Europeans are anti-Semites.

Share this article Share The response to Nevius’ ‘Celebrating the other Golden Gate Bridge’ was overwhelming, with many demanding that the Richardsons be flown to San Francisco to see the original in person. Paid for by donations and other forms of generosity from various San Franciscans, the couple, who has been married for 43 years, arrived in the Bay Area on Monday. And forget Rice-a-Roni – here’s the real San Francisco treat. Back in San Fran: This week, Mr Richardson, 62, returned to San Francisco with his wife for the first time since After landing at the airport, they took their first-ever ride in a taxi after an area cab driver offered to ferry the couple around for free, the Chronicle reported.
From there, they were treated to a free room at the Handlery Hotel on Union Square, offered to them personally by hotel owner John Handlery himself. On Tuesday, the couple took a boat ride on the San Francisco Bay, where the bridge stood tall in front of them. One for the family album: In an interview with The Derby Informer last year, Mr Richardson said he built the bridge with the help of his father, a retired machinist. He told the paper that his backyard construction project was built mostly with recycled parts.
The towers came courtesy of an old wooden bridge, and they got suspension cables from an oil rig and a Boeing surplus sale.
Although Jews originally came from the Middle East, many races and peoples have mixed together in Jewish communities over the centuries, especially after the Jews were forced out of Palestine in the second century C. What binds the group together is a common Jewish heritage as passed down from generation to generation. For many Jews, the binding force is Judaism, a term usually referring to the Jewish religion but sometimes used to refer to all Jews.
There are, however, Jewish atheists and agnostics, and one does not have to be religious to be Jewish. In general, one is Jewish if born of a Jewish mother or if he or she converts to Judaism.
